S.H.Figuarts Strike Interceptor

UPDATE:
I have made a video review for this figure.

A little late this week so please forgive me about that.
This week’s review is from the anime Active Raid. If you aren’t familiar with Active Raid, allow me to summarize. Active Raid follows a police squad known as Unit 8. Unit 8 uses power suits known as Will Wears to help police with Will Wear related crimes. What is a Will Wear? Will Wears are power suits that help perform anything from construction to city maintenance. A special set of these suits are designed for law enforcement. The suit we have here is the Strike Interceptor worn by Takeru Kuroki.
So the figure itself is an S.H.Figurarts from Bandai, and with that in mind lets get going on the review.

Starting with the box tour.

The second unit here is the only other figure in the Active Raid line.

Now let’s crack that box open.

After unboxing, we get the figure and an instruction booklet.

Here is everything the figure comes with.

It has one of those plastic wrappers in the body.
Now that is out of the way, let's continue.

Front
Side
Back

Articulation wise we have the head on a ball joint.

The neck also has a joint that gives chicken neck movement.

The torso has articulation in the upper half that allows side to side movement. As well the entire torso can rotate left and right.

It also has a light forward and back articulation, but it isn’t enough to tell via pictures.

Arm articulation goes this far.
It can rotate all the way around.

The elbow can bend this far.

Wrist can rotate.

The hip has this little gimmick that can shift downward.

Leg can lift this far.
 And this far back.

The knee can bend this far.

-->
The ankles can bend.

Moving on to accessories.
--> Quick side note, both hands have two ball joints like so.

-->
We first get two closed fists.

-->
Two holding hands.

-->
Two open hands.
-->
Hands like this always make me think of some interesting situations.
-->
They help pull off such amazing poses like, going crazy.
-->
Maybe a fetal position?
-->
Let’s put it to a test with the king of the fetal position. VF-11.
-->
Nah, it doesn’t work, it reminds me more of a work out position.

-->
There is always the other thing you can do with these hands.
-->
But I’m not sure how well that will fly.

-->
The last hand is this…hand.
-->
I’m not sure if he is giving a solute or what.
-->
Maybe he is looking out for something.

-->
Onto the rest of the accessories.

--> The back of the figure is swappable, between a closed piece and an open piece.

--> From the front, two latches are now open with the part swap.

--> Now on to the wings. We have the standby mode.

--> One nice little detail are the red and green lights at the end of the wings.

-->
Here are the wings on the back.

-->
Next we have the open wings. Well sort of, we are given this base for the open wings.

-->
What we are suppose to do is disassemble the standby mode.
--> Then attach the wings from that onto the open mode.

-->
Next we have the stand adapter.
-->
The stand adapter only works if the open wings are attached.
-->
Just plug in your tamashii stand.
 And away he goes

-->

Final thoughts.
Pros
-       The figure is nice to look at.
-       It is from active raid.
-->
And that is all I can say for the pros. This figure has a lot against it. Starting off with well the possibility. The articulation is very standard. In fact, it isn’t anything special, especially for a S.H. figurarts line. To make matters worse the articulation is limited by the figure’s own design.
The shoulder armor keeps the arm from moving at a full movement.
The torso articulation isn’t that great either, the upper and lower torso are very connected when it comes to articulation, you can’t really move one with out moving the other. The leg articulation isn’t spectacular either, the armor around the waist kind of gets in the way.
-->
A think that should be able to move which doesn’t is the tires at the feet.
-->
Next is the accessories, the hands come with these opened-ish fists.
-->
We do not get any weapons or any other accessory that the figure holds. Considering how much of an arsenal they had in the anime, I’m honestly disappointed about the lack of accessories this figure comes with.
Finally, we come to the back pack. This has to be the most disappointing aspect of the entire thing. I’m fine with that we get two different packs, but what I’m disappointed about is that we have to disassemble one pack and build another.
With that, I say that this figure really isn’t worth getting. Even as someone who did enjoy this anime, this figure is not worth it. I would definitely pass on this figure.

-->
With that, till next time.
